Real-world examples of greener homes around Southampton

Green Open Homes Month 2026

Last year’s Green Open Homes Week was a great success and we plan to run a repeat event this year, probably throughout the whole of October, in conjunction with the Environment Centre who willbe focussing on Home Energy. Look out for more details coming soon. In the mean time, if there is a particular home you would like to visit despite the event being over, please use the GET IN TOUCH option and we will try to arrange this.

The aim of the event is to help visitors find out more about how to green your home or lifestyle or reduce your monthly bills. Homes open last year, and we hope will open again this year, showcased a range of energy-saving, water-saving and other eco-friendly features and tips, offering the opportunite to hear first hand from ordinary people who’ve already made changes and can tell you what works and what doesn’t, from major purchases like solar panels to simple money- and eco-saving lifestyle hacks.

Alongside the event, some local independent businesses offered free workshops on topics including clothing repair and green cleaning. Your support of these businesses helps the local economy thrive.
